Denmark is located in northern Europe between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea.Copenhagen is the capital and largest city of Denmark and in Scandinavia. The Municipal area of the city is 88.25 km², the Capital region area is 2673 km², the Municipal Population as on 01-01-2008 is 503,861, and the city Population is 1,145,804 with a density of 5777/1947/812/686/km². The time zone of the city Central European: UTC+1, with Latitude situated at 55°43' N and Longitude at 12°34' E.

The weather in Copenhagen is mild through all the four seasons. Copenhagen’s climate is a temperate coastal climate with cool summers and mild winters. Summers bring high temperatures averaging around 68°F (20°C) and lows of around 53°F (12°C), while in mid-winter temperatures hover just above or below zero. The most precipitation occurs in the summer and autumn months, whereas spring normally is the driest period, however there are large variations from year to year.

The conurbation of Copenhagen consists of several municipalities. The city is situated on the island of Sea land. The central and largest is Copenhagen municipality; the second largest is Frederiksberg municipality which is an enclave inside Copenhagen municipality. There are direct flights to/from 129 cities worldwide, several international train connections to/from Scandinavia and the rest of Europe, direct links to the European E-highway system, and international ship and ferry connections.

The flag- Dannebrog is White cross on a red background. The name Dannebrog is, along with the Union Jack, the Tricolore and the Stars and Stripes, one of the few named flags in the world. The mother tongue is Danish, which is closely related to both Swedish and Norwegian. Denmark has a well-established tradition of stability and democratic rule going back to the age of the Vikings. According to the Constitution, Danes have freedom of religion, but the vast majority belongs to the Danish State Church which is Evangelical Lutheran.
